Aragon to Rome.
So i have a huge blobbed lucky Aragon run now but here's the thing. I will finish first all the Missions of Aragon to gain the Permanent bonuses but now here's thing. Do i go for Spain > Rome? Or should i do instead Culture Shift to Piedmont-Sardinia do the really easy missions then get the +5% permanent Admin efficiency and then go to Italy and do the Rome Missions through it?
It's still 1550 so i can go many directions here.

It all depends on how long you intend to play. If you want a long campaign, then sure, tag-switch to Sardinia-Piedmont for their permanent modifiers before becoming Rome. Admin Efficiency only matters in longer games.

If you go that route, be sure you don't form Spain. Spain is an end-game tag that can become Rome, but it can't become Sardinia-Piedmont.

You could do Aragon to SP to Byzantium to Rome, if you want a really robust mission tree experience, though it'll end up with you being an Orthodox Rome rather than a Catholic Rome (personally I like Orthodox better than Catholic, so that's a plus to me). Or you could go really nuts and do Aragon to SP to Netherlands to France to Rome.

Burdungy declared itself Independent. He's just my ally and buffer to France and England.

Aragon to Italy is my vote. Spain is too mainstream. Italy has mojo.

In 2016 I made a run for Consulate of the Sea, and along the way decided to tag switch to Italy. As I wrote in my AAR, "Forming Spain would be easy. Integrate Castile, press button. Spain. But forming Italy would be considerably more difficult. Not only am I the wrong culture, I also hold none of the required territory to form Italy. So with Spain being the obvious choice, I chose Italy. "

Of course I did. Not sure what got in to me, but I decided to document this run with a detailed AAR, complete with images, on another site. EU IV is not a popular game there, and the comments were few. But a lot of work went in to it dammit, so I want to link it here in case anyone might find it interesting. From 2016, and whichever version of EU existed at that time.

going for one culture shift is never worth it. either you go full on and form things like two sicilies, croatia, maybe maybe even bavaria etc on top of it or you just stay with countries that come naturally.

culture shifing is an all in decision, its good... but you have to fully dedicate
