Flip a coin. Rigan ideas are better for fighting enemies and converting heretics. Hanseatic ideas are better for making lots of money. What do you want to prioritise?

I like the Hansa idea set better, since if you're going this route you will be wanting to establish a trading empire, I expect. And the Hansa ideas are supercharged for trade. The 10% heavy ship combat, -10% idea cost and 10% good produced are all nice compliments.

On the flip side you lose a few land military bonuses, plus missionary strength and dip rep, and with Hansa ideas you only get 5% discipline. Since you probably plan to run tall and play peacefully (yes?) this may not be a problem. But if attacked you would possibly find your troops outclassed on the battlefield. Need allies, which should not be an issue (and a trade league). Or take a MIL group to fill in your weakness.

Lubeck is a plutocracy yes. Did it not say this in the decision tool tip? I've never played as RIga, maybe I should as I like theocracies.

I'm just speculating since I've not taken your route... but isn't the idea to start over with a new Hanseatic league? Can you now recruit to your new league?

Save up reform progress and you can switch back to theocratic government. You'll still need to give up a LOT of territory to retain your Rigan mission rewards however - that is a nation that was built around playing extremely tall, and even the Hansa play relatively wide across the north of Germany.

if you are still playing riga how far through are your ideas??
sproutman 24 FEB 2024 a las 12:01 p. m.
if they are not far through you would be better as hansa but if you invest a lot of time into riga then it is probably not worth waiting to get more ideas, just need a strong allies and lot of defensive capability
