The game is over. The milking on the part of Paradox is absurd.
No tree > we will give you one

Has a tree? will be replaced AGAIN.

Stop that. Seriously stop that. Make EU 5 already.

Haven't seen any devs over here in a while.
You have to use the official forums to have an input from them, a forum I have no access anymore due to comments on Israel/Palestine war. Should have see that one coming...

lol Are you saying you were posting there about things they couldn't affect, nor had anything to do about their games, but then are repeating your error by posting to the devs here, where no devs frequent, nor will anyone of note hear of your complaint?

Yeah, so much for liberty of expression. Let´s see Netanyahu and do nothing.

Since you don´t care, don´t post.

How do you know I don't care? You know nothing about my political beliefs and activism because I keep them completely separate from my gaming.

Your post is reasonable. His was mocking.

Anyway. Is there any rooom at all all for the new DLCs? It seems just more milking for me. Austria got 2 mission trees already, is this the third?
They have actively been working on EU5 for some time now. These DLCs just require like couple people to develop and if you don't like the content you don't have to buy it.

I am looking forward to DLC because I like fun mission trees and achievement. Someone might not look forward to it because they don't add new mechanics. That someone doesn't have to buy the DLC and won't miss out or anything. I will buy it because it will be worth it for me and I can afford it easily.

In my opinion, yes. I've had a lot of fun with the new DLCs--and if fun isn't the point of gaming, what is?

I would argue that my response actually was reasonable, because even you acknowledge what you're doing not only makes no sense, but you had to pay for it.

Most of us are on the board are here because we support and love Paradox for most of their successive releases. Personally, I haven't felt milked at all, because of the number of hours I get back in return. I'm glad when games are supported long after release. It means they cared about my boredom and worked to remedy it. I understand you and a few others don't feel that way. However, the beauty of the situation is you don't have to buy and you can keep your current patch as long as you like, and I can move on to enjoy the new patches going forward. We're both allowed to win, and the complaining is wholly unnecessary.
Man just now realizing this lmao its been happening since the dawn of paradox interactive grand strat games :income: :income: :income:

Reminder folks to be respectful and constructive when discussing topics here, this is NOT the place to argue, especially about political subjects.

I think it's pretty obvious that development of EU4 has been winding down in the last year or 2. Seems likely that they have already been working on EU5 for a while now.

I suppose the current "late stage" DLC era is a relatively low cost way for them to earn some more money and produce content for the people who are happy about the game in general and just want to keep it around for a while longer before it eventually fades away.

Don't see what's wrong with that. Seems like a win-win. Except for folks who don't even want to play the game any more but somehow feel compelled to buy the DLC anyway.

But paying 2-3 times for one nation so it has complete content is just absurd. Same with Domination, each nation should only have one DLC. We now have to pay the same price as the base game is, just to get complete content for a certain nation.

Definite agree with the camp of there should not be multiple paid mission trees for the same tag, the latest of which completely undoes the previous (i.e. Spain with Domination and Golden Century.)

No, this is relatively new. DLCs of the 2014-2018 era added things for everyone, or large groups (i.e. religions). The last patch that added something for everyone was Leviathan with monuments, going on three years ago now. It is the paid mission trees era, that PDS realized they could keep charging, again and again, for mission trees of the same tags.

That's whats so f***** weird, there is room (i.e. untouched-by-DLC tags, e.g. the non-Inca south americans) but they refuse to touch those. Instead keep pumping out paid mission trees for popular tags.
