I just hope this time, the focus in regards to game balance will be solely based on the single player iron man experience, rather than prioritising the multiplayer experience, which seemed to happen in the latter part of 4's life cycle and lead to some changes I wasn't so keen on personally.
--The game will use pops
--There will be 27,518 unique locations on the map
--Despite both of these factors, performance is supposedly great and does not slow down in later years of the game
The pop breakdown is 100% byzantium around 1400-1450 ish era.
And they are adding slaves and population back in, which is neat. (i don't condone irl slavery, but it was definitly a thing that was done back then, so it should be allowed in games in that setting)
If it's true that the late game performance will be optimised, in addition to new features, hopefully we'll see more games last to the end date, rather than giving up out of boredom or frustrated by the performance issues by the 1600's. Special shoutout to anyone who runs the HRE or Daiymo vassal swarm in the 1600's/1700's whenever a war is declared, that's the stuff of nightmares.
Cautiously optimistic about the news so far, fingers crossed!
that makes no sense . Showing slavery, and showing the world isn't perfect IS the point of woke. Being awaken to the world not being perfect.
You would think, yes. But there are certain persons out there who would vocally object to any fictional depiction of slavery that wasn't primarily focused on the morality of it- and even to a lot of morality-focused works if they didn't get it just right.
