Mouse pointer

After a windows update the size of my mouse pointer became enormous in EU4. I changed size of mouse pointer in windows to make it as small as possible, but it had no effect. I cannot read any notifications or pop ups in game because huge pointer obstructs the text beneath it.
I tried changing resolution several times but making the games video settings resolution makes the size of the text too small to read. I then tried changing the scaling but that did not seem to have much effect. How do you make mouse pointer smaller in EU4???

If this is an issue you're having with only EU4 and other programs are working correctly, I'd suggest a reinstall, including deleting the files located in Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV
