Full Fort Defence Build?
I am currently playing as Livonian Order and realized with mission tree, national ideas, defensive ideas and government reforms I can get almost like %200 fort defence boost.

I want to ask if it works well? I assume it works for the early game but will it be also effective after mid-game or will my forts simply melt after some point? If so I shall reconsider and go for army boost.

The fort defense can work even better in the late game, because the AI usually has quite some siege ability. If they have for example 60% siege ability and you have no fort defense, each siege tick takes 30*(1-0.6)=12 days. With +200% fort defense, you increase that time to 30*(1-0.6+2)=72 days. So it takes them 6 times longer than it would take without fort defense. But if they have 0% siege ability, it would take 90 days(with +200% fort defense) which is only 3 times as long as with 0% fort defense.
But make sure that your forts are uptodate, because otherwise they will need very few siege ticks.

But if you play wide, forts are much less useful in the typical late game, because you will be so big and expanding so fast that you can't maintain a good defense line and if you fight your wars in a controlled manner, the AI won't siege many forts and the forts which they do siege matter very little, because you will have so many of them, unless you delete them all. If you delete them all, which is a valid strategy, the AI would not get to siege any of your forts(assuming you control the war well enough so that they can't reach your capital), so fort defense won't matter at all.

Well it should always, regardless of early or late game, roughly triple the time it takes for forts to fall, because fort defence increases the time between siege phases. At base that should be 30 days, so +200% would be 90 days.
Of course this is also being adjusted by other modifiers.

Thanks both of you guys! I usually expand slowly and steady so that won't be a problem. Gonna try this.
