How to make vassal state ?

How can i make a country my puppet(vasal) afte i just conquered the state

If the country doesn't exist anymore, you can use the button at the bottom right of your diplomacy view to release them(if you are viewing the diplomacy of another country, you can use the same button to get back to your diplomacy view). This opens a list of releasable countries. Countries which you just conquered will be at the bottom.

You must own one or more core provinces of the nation that have a culture in the same culture group as the nation's primary culture to release it as a vassal. Thus if the only core province of an eliminated Russia you own is not an East Slavic culture you won't be able to release it.

note that some nations start the game with no provinces of the proper culture group to allow releasing them as a vassal.
