Waiting around for the last of my war exhaustion to go away. Also got a few techs and ideas while doing so, I do think there are to many techs at this point in the game as compared with previous centuries where there might be two techs every 60 or more years. Not to different from base game as I'm beginning to find.
I moved my armies into place to invade the Abbacids. This time I decided to focus on Persia and Central Asia rather than Arabia like I usually do. Speaking of doing things unlike normal the Abbacids are proving to be one tough nut to crack as it seems. They have sent one massive 50-80k deathstack at us in Anatolia and also have a lot of forts all over the place besides Arabia and Persia and have both Early Offensive and Offensive ideas to have better generals.
Once we're done occupying Persia and Central Asia we can turn our attention to Arabia and Egypt. If all goes to plan the Abbacids may lose their current dynasty and from what I can tell about 50% of their current land to separatists. Unlike Qi the Abbacids have yet to really convert cultures to their own mainly due to Muslim AI leaning toward not converting Dhimmi and thereby culture. Something I should've taken advantage of centuries ago, luckily I'm doing it now and there is nothing they nor their allies can do to stop me.
Still the Abbacids are proving to be at peak performance but the cracks are starting to form in their combat. They haven't learned from previous wars where we completely destroyed their entire army multiple times albeit with some help.
Wherever we aren't they are there and for the first time in a very, very long time Ireland was actually invaded. A small dright of more than 20k men took one of our forts then proceeded to go on a wild goose chase through Europe. They're currently trapped in Ukraine passing into Romania besides wherever else they seem to be pouring through.
As for their bigger armies they have attacked us but we won each encounter. As of when I last left the game an 18k stack with a good general has one of my armies cornered along with two more still laying siege to Persia. Anatolia has fallen though they are coming back up everywhere besides Africa where we have come into Libya. Therefore my plan has moved from offense to defense and I will need to focus all my armies in one region. I'll probably stick to Russia and send armies to fend off the Abbacids.

In all separatists make up and account for 113 provinces with development ranging from 3 to 31 in Sidamo. All that accounts for about 43.4% of all land in the Abbacid caliphate so I wasn't to far off when I said 50%, I was just unfamiliar with my former rival.
As it stands Abbacid invasions into Ireland have been stamped out. In finding cannons gave an unfair advantage I set out to create the first 19 of our artillery divisions while we were getting the war under our control.
The Abbacid's misguided strike into Central Asia and in Antioch allowed us to split the biggest parts of their army from supply and escape following a big strike at Antioch now putting their forces below 190k troops. Though we still have many more to encircle and destroy before the rebels can begin their action.
This is the turning point in our war, where they lack manpower we gain. Where they gain in war exhaustion we lack. Their revolts are only a step away from beginning their downfall, however their pesky lackeys may slow down this process. Arabia is before us and soon we will take Egypt and Africa from Abbacid control for good. And we will make the lackeys pay for all their meddling against Ireland even if it drags me down like last time.
PS: I may be out for a while tomorrow. Like today it's all family matters and I know for sure I'm probably not getting back home until about the same time as today. Though if I play around midday I might be able to play an hour or so but that's tomorrow.
Dealing a second devastating blow to Abbacid forces nearby Antioch led to a quick occupation of Palestine and entryway into Arabia and Egypt. 60k were trapped in Central Asia with a wall of men to keep them out of their own country.
The first of many separatist rebels rose up in Tunis, I deleted Atlas' entire army just to make sure they wouldn't kill them. They and some Afghan rebels are the first of many to rise up against Abbacid rule and likely won't be the last.
All that said the Abbacid AI sure likes to deathstack whenever they attack us. It's annoying to fight an entire nation's army every time we fight but like I said they're losing more than they can recover and we while sustaining larger casualties still have a pool of manpower to draw from. I'm going to use all of that to make sure the AI get's payback for all the times they've done that to me, especially Hobyo and Kilwa who are doing double time for their master. I'll occupy their land for 1000 years if it means they'll never do it again.
The turning point came around when our forces fought in Central Asia. Though this freed up the Abbacid armies there to run back to their lands it also freed up our own to go and make our own deathstack. So in Persia we struck them multiple times with even hantle though they seemed afraid of our own stack and promptly fled to Arabia.
Meanwhile Egypt fell to us with Sudan shortly after and Ethiopia on it's way with not a single foe to stop us as of yet in Africa. However our manpower pool has not only depleted but we also have to reinforce roughly 30-40k troops across our whole fronts which could take a long time due to battles and attrition in the less developed parts of Abbacid territories.
As for the rebels they are successful in Tunis and Afghan rebels stand uncontested in former Afghanistan as well as another uprising in Anatolia by former Romans. Central Asia however is under threat of annihilation and could potentially extend the Hyperwar by another decade so we will contend them there and hopefully cut the head of this slippery snake.
Another thing I forgot to mention in my last game is that there are three provinces in Anatolia that have no culture. Seriously, they aren't Greek, Arab or Irish which makes me wonder what kind of life can be there is there isn't a culture.
I take back my words, the turning point is nearing but not here just yet. The Abbacids have to be a slippery snake always biting at us then running away. And not just them but those pretender rebels have been a pain as well, everyone just has to have artillery in their armies now which is really adding up the death toll on our end.
However the gloom is not forever, because our plan is clear as day. With Ethiopia largely secured all that is left is Arabia, the one place I have yet to really occupy outside of the Levant. The one place they always run to whenever I beat them, this will be their final stand. We will encircle them from gulf to gulf then close in on Oman and Yemen and take down as many Abbacid troops as we can.
Worse case is they take boats to one of their lackeys and rebuild from there. Best case is we finally bring their hantle down to 0 and occupy uncontested besides rebels. From there we move on to Hoybo, Pate and Kilwa of whom I have plans for which involves more rebels. And plans to recover 91k troops that have all been getting killed in battle. at 3k a month we should be back to normal in 3 years. Let's hope that that can be one game and not by one hour one in-game year as it has been.
P.S. I forgot to mention Tunisia is the first of many nations to break free of Abbacid rule. From what I remember they might've been a nation at the start of my playthrough, regardless they've taken 99% warscore with them and another 15% is to go with the nations nearby.
A lot of things can happen in two years, sieges are above all the most annoying of those. A few forts just taking a good 500+ days to siege for no known reason to man cut short only because of savescumming. Also plenty of rebel lives saved because losing them would also make me lose time and my mind.
Having 20 war exhaustion the Abbacids hit the lotto of rebellions as Africa exploded with uprisings from Algeria to Ethiopia. They only thing stopping them from killing all these was a fort I had occupied. So many rebels completely sawed our army in half as we laid siege to Hoybo, a siege long in coming IMO. Arabia is contested between me, the Abbacids hiding in Oman and those damn pretenders I now have a gripe with for killing separatists.
Within the next five years we should finally have the Abbacids under wraps as nations begin bursting out of their dying state. We may even see them lose all of Africa if Arab Egyptians occupy all their lands. While I have peace out Pate the other two will be punished, Hoybo especially and Killwa will be flooded by the Hyperwar as well for having a lot of separatists that can pop up in Zimbabwe and Madagascar
And last of all our manpower situation has gone from about 91k down to about 70k, though one army has had 93 soldiers in it ever since it retreated to Prussia years ago.
I'm gonna say it right now this war makes me want to salt the earth, burn it then blast it to bits. Regardless I can say with certainty I am beyond winning.
We finally fully occupy all of Hobyo and after a few fights in Ethiopia and Central Asia they have finally no contention with rebels or our land thus allowing all attention on Kilwa. I've also recruited a few mercenaries to do the sieges for us (Of which we currently have 1% siege ability) which has lightened the burden of manpower a little bit. Just a few more battles and enemy forces will be at 0.
In good news now a hantle of nations have escaped Abbacid enslavement in Africa as well as a few in Anatolia meaning the majority of the Hyperwar is bearing fruits as we speak. However due to previous interference in Central Asia as well as in a few spots the AI has postponed our war efforts by as much as a decade, in all they deserve it for having all these forts and all this buggering. I WILL not stop until I can rest easy, all for the thousands Ireland has lost I cannot I won't and shall not. No no no not at all.
As we close in on the final fortresses and armies in Zimbabwe the majority of Sudan and Ethiopia have been liberated leaving only a few bits to future rebels who will hopefully spawn soon though the current neighborhood of nations that have come out of the Abbacid Caliphate have very much enriched the game to a good degree.
In other good news our manpower problem has been solved and even the least of our armies have been replenished due to our mercs taking the blunt of attrition warfare along the thin coast of Kilwa. We will be occupying Zimbabwe in the hopes of breaking it from Kilwa's grip and in the future we may even invade Madagascar thanks to one lucky explorer finding a way around the cape coast but before that we must sink or at least ground their massive fleet along with the Abbacid and Hobyo fleets.
So far the Abbacids have fallen massively behind as a great power and will continue too. In fact they are already at about 1072% war score cost and may even drop into the 900s as Central Asia rises up against them. Though there will be more uprisings in Middle Europe which leads me to think about releasing our German and Czech states as independent nations if not even some Slavs to ease our governing powers. Or not as we need that land to fight against Qi who is in need of wrangling once again.
'Gaelification', mo chara. Gaelification!
The last stronghold of Kilwa holds us back from the last armies of the Abbacids. Having taken the whole coast the only other hold out is Madagascar where not a single army of Kilwa is stationed and where some recent rebels have risen up to free the island. While our navy is building up for a large engagement we will have to keep them in a stand off so as not to build armies on the island.
Back home rebellions are popping up every where with another heretic uprising in Breatain Mhór (I've lost track of how many of these have happened.). This is no big deal for us since the majority of are armies are back at home and can easily crush any uprising at our beckons call.
I'll be honest I'm not seeing to much more reason to be at war with the Abbacids at this point. Most of their land has been lost so to make it easy on us we will make peace once Central Asia has broken free. If Kilwa is or isn't broken during all that time I won't bother with that. I've got to get to annexing Assyria then I'll be finishing off Anglo-Saxon culture like I should've done a long time ago. Then we'll go after Qi who has taken to much of their former lands as of recent.
