Can I run EU4?
Hello guys! I have a simple question...

Recently my dedicated GPU went kaput on my laptop and sadly i am left with integrated GPU (CPU). So i am asking for the huge love I have for this game... can I run it? I know the game is not intensive in terms of GPU and yeah it doesnt require GTX3070 :D but integrated graphics card is integrated after all, specs down below:

CPU: i5-8300H
GPU (that i used before): GTX 1050ti
RAM: 8GB 2667 Mhz
Cooling shouldnt be a problem, at least it never was for me.

Thanks everyone for all the answers.

This game is basically an Excel spreadsheet with some BMP-Overlay. You only need CPU and RAM power. I think you're fine.

I'm curious why you ask this instead of just trying it. If the FPS are too low, you can improve them by using mods like "aFPS and shader boost" or fast/toaster/microwave universalis

You can easily run it. The difference between CPUs is just how fast max speed is.
So i tried it but its kinda laggy... Interesting is, that i can easily run hoi4 on 60 fps but EU4? Barely on 30 , not even that

I tried the mods but it didnt improve anything, i dont know why... Any suggestions?

30 FPS is normal for eu4. The engine has some kind of problem and gives low FPS on almost all systems(compared to games with similar graphics). On the other hand, you can get a playable 15 FPS even on systems with very bad integrated graphics cards.

If I can with my potato PC, I'm pretty sure you can.

Every computer can run EU4, it does not really use video card and only needs CPU. However, every computer also lags with it and having better hardware has very little effect. The engine is just very old and all these endless changes over many-many years have left tons of bugs in the code.

These FPS mods are meager at best, unless you have an actual potato that makes the minimum specified requirements on EU4's store page look like a shiny new rig.

To the OP, you're completely fine to play it until 1650. With the CPU you have, good luck enjoying the game going to a snails pace.

I agree. But the OPs Intel UHD Graphics 630 is well below the minimum requirement(nvidia GTX 460), so I had some hope that they would give a performance improvement
