Great projects for subjects
So, how does this work? Im France, Milan is my bitc...respected junior partner. Do i profit from building up their great Project? Or do i only boost Milan itslef by upgrading it?

Generally speaking*, you only boost your subject. If you like the powers of a great project, integrate the subject whose province it is, or seize that province from them.

*The Fuerte del Moro is an exception to this.

The biggest reason to upgrade vassals' Great Projects is to leave them at whatever tier they were at when you integrate the vassal - every other kind of exchange of province lowers a Great Project's level by 1, and there is an irritating (to me and no doubt others) event that keeps popping up urging you to upgrade Great Projects that you are the wrong culture/religion/whatever for if they are not already at tier 3.

They get the benefits of the Great Project which usually means serving you better until you absorb them, and you get to avoid one more trigger for an otherwise eternal event that you cannot benefit from.

And it looks REALLY nice to see all the Great Projects at max level too. Requires a fair bit of finagling in some areas (India and the Americas especially), but the completionist in me is very satisfied by the result.

Only really benefits them. Although it would benefit you when you integrate them, possibly in multiple ways. Milan's project gives them resistance to reformation, so a better chance of keeping their provinces catholic. Assuming you're catholic France that may be of benefit to you as well as getting the project yourself when integrating.

Be careful though. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'm not sure projects that are in the process of upgrading carry that over when integrating. When they finish upgrading they definitely do, but I think I've lost progress and had to pay for an upgrade again when integrating ones that haven't finished upgrading.

This is correct. It's happened to me, too, and I make sure to delay integration until after an upgrade completes when I go that route.

Ya i found this out the hard way a while ago, when i stupidly started to upgrade a GP in the Caribbean, and it was still in progress when the CN formed, thus cancelling it completely and it remaining at same tier as it was :/

What is wrong with me that, every time my eyes pass over this line, my brain auto-fills it as "bitcoin"... I'm not even into all that crypto craziness...
