Iberian Wedding - I want to ask about something.
With the Upcoming patch - which I'm hyped about for some Portugal changes. Tho it came to my ears that in the 1500's Portugal had a Heir for Castile and Aragon and was supposed to get the Wedding.

Was this ever an option to be added to the game or was it left out to be more balanced? Historically wise - Castile got it.

Dont know about the history itself, but if we talk about balance then you should know that Castile has very early missions right now giving Resto CBs on Portugal and Naples, as far as i know will also now get a mission for a Resto CB on Aragon, so it is not only possible, but rather standard right now as Castile to control whole of Iberia before 1470.

I'm not sure what historical thing you are referring to. Historically the wedding between Isabella and Ferdinand happened in 1469 and in 1474 Isabella became Queen of Castile(when her half-brother died) and in 1479 Ferdinand became king of Aragon(when his father died). So whatever happened in the 1500s would not have any impact on this.

OP is probably referring to the Castilian princess that married Afonso V of Portugal, so Portugal had a good shot at something like the Iberian wedding.

Interestingly, this is also the 1470s so Isabella of Castlile had a rival.

For the historical flavour such an event might be a good idea but if it were ever added, it should probably get a low probability. A combined Castile-Portugal sounds like an unbeatable colonizer.

Yeah that was my take on it. Someone told me about it and I wouldn't really mind that as an Event for a Portugese PU. Some Alt-History.

"The Portuguese Crown" event between 1550 and 1650. The requirements are an independent Spain that has a royal marriage with and the same religion as an independent Portugal that is in a regency, has 150+ opinion of Spain, and is not a rival. The odds are not great (2000 months MTH) but Spain can get a free Portuguese PU that way.

Interestingly, the countries do not have to be Christian for this to apply.
