Difference between "Potential requirements" and "Allow"?
Looking to form Texas, and under "Potential requirements" being a Colonial Nation is included in a list of "either"s, but under "Allow" it's stated that you cannot be any Subject Nation other than Tributary. Can someone help me understand the difference between "Potential requirements" and "Allow"?

I don't understand why colonial nation is in the list of requirements at all since you can't form it as a subject anyway.

Guess that's their way of saying "former colonial nation". Or maybe it's a failsafe or optimization that doesn't make sense when you don't know the code that processes the definitions.

If the OP is not playing in English it may be a bad translation problem, I know what I'm talking here, I have seen weird things that are different enough in English than in Spanish, so in the end I rely on the English "definition", aka the Wiki.
If the OP plays in English, it can by some kind of t"ypo" as you -kind of- suggested.

I'm playing in English. The example with Texas was just that - an example. I'm more interested in the difference between "Potential requirements" and "Allow" in general. To me they all look like requirements, why are they split into two categories?

As far as i know, "potential requirements" are needed to even see the option to form Texas and "allow" are the requirements to then form Texas.

Like, if you dont own a province in the Rio Grande region, you wont see the decision to form Texas, even if you are just one province away and still a colonial nation. But if you own a province, you see the decision and then you also see that you need to own 4 Rio Grande provinces to form Texas.

This is the same with the colonial nation stuff, i assume. You either need to be a colonial nation, were a former colonial nation or have your capital in the Rio Grande region to see the decision to form Texas, but you are only allowed to form it when you are not a subject.
