Achievment "Stern des Südens"

Hello.

Ich try out this Acheivment as starting as munich and become Bavaria... After some more lands i changed my Nation to germany...
So if im right i cant get it anymore, because im not longer Bavaria?

I don't know about programming code, but according to the wiki looks like you aren't valid for the achievement because you aren't Bavaria anymore. And it is not a case of a formable you can be and still being available for it (like Poland-Lithuania/Commonwealth for the Poland Can Into Space, for example).
Maybe if you can release youself as Bavaria (and Bremen too, for obvious reasons) you still can do it because in the wiki there is nothing about it, so it may work, if it is still possible to release yourself as a german minor from Germany, which I don't know.

Nice idea to release myself... but lemme check if its possible to hold bremen as a vasall...

Correct, you must be the actual nation of Bavaria. Deciphering the code is not nearly so important as knowing the in-game achievement log which is the little trophy button next to the pause. Whenever you are doubt, click on that and take a look at exactly what the requirements and progress are for any given achievement.

Unfortunately Dante, becoming a new country changes your old cores into the new ones - forming Germany as Bavaria causes all Bavarian cores to become German ones - and therefore you cannot release your old nation from your new one. This is basically a lost run for that particular achievement.

I didnt realized its the whole region not only tunis. with the new devastion mechanic it takes ages to get 100 devastion in only one core... i let revoluzer on it for ages... I didnt want to use the bancrupty trick to get 100 devastion on all the area after i found out why the trophy didnt trigger.

This run i made two sicilian country, then italy and then rome empire... But i was trying Mare Nostrum-Trophy and overlook the text with the whole black sea tiles...

And because poland was my friend for the whole playthrough and the time i had over it was lost.

Silver lining to each scenario: you'll never make that mistake again. You'll be too traumatised and the PTSD will kick in to stop you.

Haha yeah. im a bit sad... it was one of my hardest games to get bavaria strong and destroying the hrr to get my work easier. Weaken austria wasn´t that good for us, Ottoman came and nobody was able to stop him... Had Poland and Netherland my friends, some vasalls i feeded boehemia land and austrialand and bremen... But Otto declared war twice on me.. its long time ago this has happen in my games. The first war(his 200k men vs my 50-80k) he taken some land from poland until peace with them... i was able to make white peace without losing any land. Second one i lost one land, had to call the most soldiers i ever loaned in any game. After that i was the attacker and he lost lands.

The take-home lesson here is to always research achievements before starting runs to get them. Visit the wiki page and pay close attention to what it says about requirements. Sometimes you can tag switch and be fine, but many other times you cannot. Know all of this before you press the play button.

Didn't need to. One of the completion requirements reads "Is Bavaria". Specifically Bavaria. Not "Became Bavaria at once point but is now someone else". Even the description says "As Bavaria, have blah blah blah".

Achievements that let you change country beyond the stated requirement are staggeringly rare. I can think of maybe two, one of which is Finland and the other is Kale.

Yup. The requirements for Stern are crystal clear. Sure, there's "no message that Germany prevents the achievement." There's also no message about Italy, Russia, France, the Aztecs, or any other nation in the game. Why should there be? There's no reason for the wiki to list every possible tag when instead it can just say "Is Bavaria." Those two words cover every possibility.

I wasn't sure about it, that is why I said the maybe.
It is good to know either way, not the kind of mistake I do (I do worse XD), but a good information to know.

As a pointer, when a formable allows it, the wiki specifically says it.
