"Colonial core" ??
I'm austria and my land in italy says it cant have any lower autonomy than 50% because of colonial core. What does that mean and how do I remove it?

When you conquer new territory and core it, it becomes a Territorial Core. It has a minimum autonomy of 90%. When you have Territorial Cores on all owned provinces in a region, you can put them into a state. These are called Colonial Cores and have a minimum autonomy of 50%. You can then upgrade these cores to Full Cores, so that the minimum autonomy may now be 0%.

The cost of making a Territorial Core is half of what it costs in total to make a Full Core. Note that if you de-state a region for any reason, all Full Cores are reduced back to Territorial Cores, and you must pay again to make them Full Cores.

When you integrate a vassal, you are effectively paying the cost to make all their provinces into Full Cores. What used to be their lands become territories under your control, and if you make them into states, they are immediately counted as Full Cores with 0% minimum autonomy.

I see a Reddit post from a couple years ago that says this happens when you have a territorial core inside a state; do you have an option to core that land again?
