1444 Ming . develop which location for renaissance?
its 1450, i can start to develop a town to embrace renaissance.

do i choose location with cheaper development cost or do i choose one with high institution spread %?

i lookup cost found few places to be very cheap

runing(south henan) is in the middle of the empire, with farmland(-5% dev cost) and cloth(-10% dev cost)

wuling(hunan) is fairly close to middle as well, with farmland and cotton (same total -15% dev cost)

for institution spread %

i found macau to be fairly cheap as well with tier 1 port(east canton) located at south Ming, its next to canton with tier3 port (canton has +75 institution spread)

and i found some ppl develop Hangzhou(tier2 port) the east end of Ming empire to start renaissance

You want to ideally find a spot where you have 3 low dev cost provinces adjacent to each other in a triangle formation so you use 1 each for the first three institutions and for the later two it rapidly spreads to the neighboring high dev provinces. In Ming's case, though, one province isn't going to be enough so you want at least renaissance to go somewhere that also has some reasonably developed provinces around for it to quickly spread. Bonus points if it's all one state that would be a decent place to move your capital to minimize governing capacity usage...

(ok, looked at the map...I'd say go with Zhenjiang then Ninbo and Shaoxin for colonialism and printing press. A lot of high dev stuff in the area already for rapid spread while they wouldn't be too outrageous to use. The trade goods aren't great in two of them but spread in that cluster will be insane (I'd move the capital to Nanjing at some point as well for a big gc usage reduction). You could do the same up near Beijing but there's not as much existing dev to spread to nor as much farmland.)

this Runing Shanqiu are fairly cheap (both with -15% dev cost)

do i pick Nanyang(within same state) or Fuyang as 3rd location to develop?

Yeah, just edited after a name look-up. naval supplies is rubbish but with all that dev next door spread will happen fast, especially if you boost the trade ports.

I would do it in my capital state since ur capital gives dev cost reduction and gov cap reduction, so u don’t suffer GC issues from all that high dev. Plus u can expand infrastructure for -25% each time and won’t suffer the increased GC as much either.

-25% at 15 dev and another -25% (total -50%) at 30 dev more than compensates for a province not being farmlands or producing cloth.

You can move your capital to Nanjing and fix that issue easily enough once you get a decent ruler and have some mp to burn (it's barely over 200 since Nanjing is 33 dev). That is the most developed area in the game at start and it's all farmland all around plus there's a level 2 trade center you can push to level 3 easily enough (gogo ducat swim-Ming!!!). Beijing is, long term, a worse area to have your capital (and both are lousy in terms of trade, you'll want to move trade to Yumen as soon as you smack the hordes around enough to get a stranglehold on it).
