So I recently bought the Sabaton Soundtrack, and i was looking to add it to my iTunes, but I can't find the files. They aren't under Soundtrack/DLC.

Anyway, in your library (steam), click where it says Games (its a little drop down menu) > Music, find it on the list and click it, should be a thing that says 'Show on Disk' or something like that.

EDIT: Heh, did it for you, its in "\Steam\SteamApps\common\Europa Universalis IV\soundtrack"

Double EDIT: Didn't read the 'They aren't under' part.

Yeah, some songs I just can't find the files anywhere, like the songs of exploration you get from the El Dorado content pack, or the second Kairis sountrack that came out today. It'd be nice to know where they're hidden away at, considering you can find most other tracks in the soundtrack/music folders.

So i also checked my music library, and it's not there either.

Another thing worth noting is that when i bought the Sabaton Soundtrack, I also bought Guns Drums and Steel volumes 2, which also doesn't appear correctly.

Seems to vary on a case-by-case basis. Guns, Drums and Steel 2 show up fine in my soundtrack folder, while Kairis 2 doesn't nor does Sabaton. With Sabaton, I thought it was more a matter of it being licensed music, hidden in games archived files so as not to be easily accessible for copying and using outside the game.

It's not that Guns Drums and Steel doesn't show up... Instead of metal, it's the standard, orchestra pieces.

Have you tried the usual recommended fixes? I mean a clean install, verifying the files, etc. I'm asking to know if it's worth bothering with.

The Sabaton files are in \Steam\SteamApps\common\Europa Universalis IV\music . They are those .ogg files. Yew need be able to translate .ogg files to sound files that you can play. If your PC can't, there are converters out there that can for you. :p2orange:

So I just checked there, I can play .ogg files, but the Sabaton files aren't in there

@UthersonL [PL]
I tried uninstalling and re-installing the DLC, as well as validating the files, all to no avail. Ahything else i should try?

The .ogg files for the sabaton soundtrack can be found in the DLC folder (for me - i'm not sure if that's is the same for everyone) but the soundtrack is located in the compressed folder dlc052 in the DLC folder.
So it will be Europa universalis IV / DLC / dlc052 / content / music

You can donwload a music player like VLC and to play the songs, you can download free audio converters online to convert to mp3 if you want it.

I believe (not sure) that the reason why the songs are not in MP3 format in the main folder of the game has to deal with some license issue for paradox.
(i'm not sure about that, i mentioned this to them in a ticket but they never really answered that point).

Also I should pointed out that the mp3s Guns Drums and Steel should be located in the soundtrack/DLC.

Though i have a problem with volume 2 where for some reason the songs in the volume 2 are not downloading correctly so for me the mp3s for volume 2 are missing but the mp3 for volume 1 are on that folder.

My guess is that Sabaton files are never going to be there in MP3 to protect the licensed content.

As for trying to get the other DLC soundtracks back in order, you could try:

1) A clean install of the whole game - uninstall it via the client, delete the remaining files and folders in the Steam\steamapps\common\Europa Universalis IV, delete the config and save data from the folder somewhere in My Documents (something like My Documents\My Games\Paradox ...\Europa ...), then install/download the whole lot. It takes time and likely won't fix it anyway (plus you lose non-cloud saves), so don't be too hasty about this one.

2) Verify the games files (right click on the game in your Steam library // select Properties // Local files // Verify ...). It will probably take a few minutes, but shouldn't mess your game up. Likely you will have to download a tiny bit of data afterwards.

If the songs are playing ingame, he does not have to reinstall the game.

The .ogg files should be located in the euiv/dlc/dlc052

Thanks. I did't know of the zip file. I'm doing this on an older laptop that doesn't play .ogg files but with a little regedit I got them to play on my media player. This was something that was annoying me for a while but didn't really know how to approach it til this thread. Again, thanks. :mailedfist:

Semi-related question for the Sabaton DLC: are these unique tracks for EU4? I already have Sabaton's albums up to and including heroes and would consider the DLC if its something I can't get elsewhere. But no way would I pay money and hdd space for something I already have.

I think they're all pre-existing songs. Just in case, here's the list (copied from DLC store page):

1. A Lifetime Of War
2. Art Of War
3. The Lion From The North
4. Carolus Rex
5. Karolinens Bön

You can compare it with your iTunes (or other service) account or collection.
