i get the basic premiese as ive played in the HRE before i just have never became the emperor outside of the HRE.
If you want to become an emperor after the 1st-2nd Austrian one dies the only way is to declare war on Austria and co-belligerent electors allied with him. That will be a very hard war but if you success you will have all the chances to win next elections. Also you will need to make focus on military points cause you should be 1st in 4th and 5th techs.
Actually no - each elector will be defended by Austria (as emperor) plus each elector will have their own allies. Even if you win the ae will be horrible and likely to cause a coallition. This might not be a problem except that both England and Burgundy will attack you early game and the BBB achievement requires you to continue to be aggressive. So doable but high risk.
Arumba (a you tuber) tried the diplomatic and war routes and failed, but the videos of his 5 failed attempts are interesting:

As soon as your'e elected, add Paris into the empire. Then start eating up everyone outside of the empire. Keep relationshps high and aggreesive expansion within the empire low. I expanded into the Balkians.
The Protestant League justed formed. I've enacted two reforms. I'm expanding into the Ottmans and Poland aggressively and adding these as cores. My goal is to have 150 proviences to add once the league thing ends. Then I can ram three three reforms back to back.
I haven't attempted it, but from what I have seen going for BBB means going for the cheapest, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ land you can for the lowest coring costs, since you have a very finite amount of adm you can get by 1500, and only province count matters, not development, for the achievement.
