U need positive stability, so u can increase ur missionary strenght by 0.5 per 1 stability i belive.

conquer Rome/Mecca/Jeruselum, get a free missionary(for each) and an increase in missionary strength (don't recall the exact amount).

Ideas, advisers, triggered events (like the conquests of those three), Clergy estate, Cathedral building, Stability, Being dominant religion in HRE (winning league war), Piety/Patriarch Authority, and some decisions.

Religious Ideas are the best option for this, especially if you're playing as Jewish or Zoroastrian and literally need to convert every province you conquer if you want religious unity. You'll get a couple extra missionaries along the way, plus a very nice +3% missionary strength boost after the fourth idea. It's unfortunate that a couple of the ideas are wasted if you're not playing as one of the Christian or Islamic religions with unique mechanics, but I'd still consider it a must-have for a playthrough involving a whole lot of converting. People have mentioned other things that help, but none provide as big a boost as Religious Ideas.

It kind of depends on ur country's religion . But you can get an easy missionary conversion % under the mission tabs if ur a muslim . Also selecting the options with the "gain piety" in that same place will give your missionaries a higher conversion rate. Up to 3.5% with max piety iirc

Having a theologian as an advisor automatically increases missionary strength. As a Catholic nation, there are several early missions/decisions that increase missionary strength, including: Pass Advancement of Religion Act, Pass Act of Uniformity, Pass De Heretico Comburendo Act. These require Admin rank of 6, 8, and 10, respectively, I believe. There are also occassionally missions that give you increased missionary strength for converting a particular province.
