Europa Universalis IV

Ottomans in this patch unstoppable!
Title- in 1522 they are completely destroying all the great powers in every category. i'm starting as a minor so I just have no hope, there's no way I could ever stop them. No one else can either- europe just completely collapsed on its own without any help.

I even used my favors to sabotoge their alliances- but it doesn't matter they don't need alliances. They have more troops and their troops are better than everyone else.

There is no europe- everyone there is detached, the HRE destroyed, Austria has completely done nothing. France and spain are strong but not anywhere NEAR as strong as the Ottomans-- and they decided to rival me anyway so no assistance.

What do?

Yeah but I'm playing Etheopia so I cannot do that

I'm not saying you need to start by snagging Byzantium. I'm saying to avoid the Ottomans and blob out elsewhere until you're big enough to take them on. Eat your way down to Cape and then back north up the Ivory Coast. Colonize your way to the East Indies and Australia. Take India's coastline and feed half the world's trade back to your home node. Etc.

You have the disadvantage of having picked a challenging start, but it's still not an impossible one.

I thought you said you were starting as a minor?

Coptic Ethiopia can easily ally every major European power, it should be no problem getting enough allies to run over Ottomans.

Better yet, if you get big enough to rival the Mamluks you can probably ally the Ottomans. Build up favors, call them into every war you fight, take a bunch of Mamluk land, and don't give them any. Blob at their expense and give them nothing.
my current campaign they are getting rekt by both mamluks and mughals , why does this only happen when im playing oirats:(

Exactly this. Ethiopia is a regional power that's perfectly positioned to explode in size. Take over all of sub-Saharan Africa, India, southeast Asia, Indonesia, and Australia. Then you can just obliterate the Ottomans with a nation that's massively stronger and richer than they are. It's like I said earlier:

One of the keys to this game is to pick on weakness, not strength. Grow elsewhere and fight your tough enemy later when you outclass them. If you're better at the game than the AI, this strategy works 100% of the time.
Do you guys have this success playing Iron man hard difficulty setting? It sounds like you all have no problems with coalitions. When i play on hard mode if i take more than 2 or 3 provinces in one war I get a coalition against me for aggressive expansion. I usually play with very small countries of 2 or 3 starting provinces.

I play on Ironman, but normal difficulty. I'm generally focused on getting the achievements (currently, I have all of them). Once I get them all after a new patch adds more, I experiment with nations that don't have any, or try new ways to get old achievements, or explore a mission tree I haven't completed before, or whatever.

Depends on the nation you play , If your playing in a developed area AE is going to be very high like Holland but if you play in Africa just say then you able to take more for less AE because most areas are not developed.
Historically Ottoman are suppose to stomp into most parts of southern and eastern Europe during this period and HRE was slowly in decline. Someone left EU4 running with AI only for 5000 years you should watch it haha https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwccVHyEYlY&t=220s
I got it I just needed to wait for the Commonwealth to pop up, they make a really good ally

Now they rivaled me but I got to beat up the ottomans a bit
In Crusader Kings I just used Intrigue for this. People think Intrigue is the weakest tree in that game, but throw a few well placed assassinations and their new king is a 2 year old baby with 10 years worth of debt. It's only a short step from there to let the empire dissolve itself to internal warfare while being picked apart by neighbors like hungry vultures.

But this game doesn't have that. There's no easy way to dismantle a state by killing a single person. Might have something to do with the time period, set during the age of sail and industrial revolution rather than the dark ages and middle ages.

Most fun I had was doing this with duels. Played as tribal Irish, and when the Norse conquered random counties next to me joined a warrior lodge. Then just spent my time bullying Umayyad sultans until I could duel them to death.

Best of all, the character I was doing this on was a female ruler who kept it up well into her 80s.
Every game I play in Europe starts with no cbing byzantine, vassalizing and calling in my allies. If you don't knock them out by tech 6 it's over. They'll be there forever and too tedious to fight

Not at all. It's perfectly possible to ignore them and focus on simply getting bigger and stronger than they are. There's no deadline.
