How to change Elective Monarchy as Poland
Hi
I have problem as above.
I know that I should pacify the Sejm to change the type of goverment but how can I do that?

It's event based, Iirc it happens somewhere around 1600.
Alternatively you can let pretender rebels seize your throne.

I usually see them having an elective monarchy around 1460 actually... It should be event based... but beware: it can screw your PU with Lithuania really bad...
Historically, in 1606-1609 there was a "szlachta" rebelion against polish king, Sigismund III Vasa

In the game, around ~1600 you will have an event. You can either choose to "peacefully" change your goverment type to "Noble republic" (without ruler, heir but with 4yrs election) or go for "absolute monarchy" which will cause a great rebelion (128k units) + 3 stability drop + 10 revolt risk for few years

and as far as early years are concerned, you start the game with "feudal monarchy" and it automatically changes around ~1460 into "elective monarchy" through an event (the only response is "there is nothing we can do about it"). So the only way to change your goverment type is to wait until 1600 but beware of this rebelion cause it's really hard to beat them

Unfortunatelly I have a year 1700 and still no event :(
I have tried new game (still not iron mod - but I have only 9999mode on) - I have now 1620 - still no event about changing the rule system. Someone maybe knows why it's happening?
Ask in the mod forum.

If you are using any mods that change things a little-much less to that extent- then it is obvious things will not work the same as unmodded game.
Event fired for me in 1602. stack of like 96 at warsaw, another 26 somewhere else.
hope u had 100 force limit
If you have a weak heir, you can also get pretender rebels. Let them win and switch you to a feudal monarchy, then at Adm tech 20 just switch to absolute moanrchy.

I tried this, but as soon as the pretender assumed the throne, it triggered the "Elective Monarchy in Poland" event and switched me right back ... the upside, I guess, was that the pretender started the new elective monarchy with a 95 legitimacy! This was before 1500 and I hadn't formed the Commonwealth (would that make any difference?).
Hi, idk if this forum is still working, but I made a mod today, it changes the government to elective monarchy and back to normal monarchy, so if anyone needs it then it's here
