How long so event windows stay open if you do not choose an option?

How long so event windows stay open if you do not choose an option? If you wait too long the window closes after some time (1 year?). I would be great to know exactly when, in particular for those situations when you get a stability bonus but already reached 3 stability...

I don't think they ever do, in eu3 reloading would get rid of them but eu4 fixed that.

No, it autopicks something after a while. Calls to arms and other diplomatic pop-ups stay for 2 months, not sure if event popups stay longer.

Well the window for ending the french revolution (+200 Prestige and +6 Stability) just closed and auto-activated after a year of being open, which only gave 2 prestige because i already had 98 Prestige and 3 stability :/
But that event did only have one "option" so i am wondering what happens to those with 2 or more options...

Those show the specific date they go with rejection and event windows-which he is asking about- don't though. I think the longest I held one open was a few months(I think 4? Didn't pay attention) due to moving troops to provinces where the rebels would pop-up.

EDIT: On interesting, a year is already a ridiculous long time though. If you can't find something to do in that time you might as well give up. I presume multiple options it is randomly chosen as Kage said.
