No one is going to be able to give you a good answer without knowing more about your tactical situation and current level of war weariness among other things. Now What I'm reading into this is that Britttany now owns Burgundy via inheritance so if you vassalize Brittany don't you automatically acquire Burgundy as well?

Brittany will lose Burgundy as PU when you vassalize them.

ok then i will elaborate more very less war exhausion i am thinking of wrapping this burgundy situation and attacking the ottomans since i have a 6 5 6 ruler so am ahead with military tech and only 1 with artillary and a bigger combined army than ottomans after which i would attack france i also have castille as a ally

While I don't know the specifics of what your map looks like, in general I'd say Burgundy is a far more valuable prize than Brittany. For one, they're larger. For another, if you get the PU over them there's a chance (as part of the Burgundian Succession event chain) that you just inherit them completely a little while later, at no mana cost and ignoring the usual waiting period to inherit/integrate. That's huge; you basically instantly double in size. And as Austria, you greatly extend your reach for purposes of attacking wayward HRE princes (which is a pretty big strategic concern, when Protestantism appears).

so should i force pu burgundy because as medicles say that brittany will loose pu over burgundy if i vassalise them

You can easily diplo vassalize brittany with austrian diplo rep afterwards.

He said Brittany had inherited them I had assumed that went a little more than a PU which he also had.

If Brittany had inherited outright they'd be way too big to vassalize in one war though.

True you'd have to eat burgundy which is a pretty big mouthful all by it's self first. I'd do burgundy first any way if I had to choose easier that way and gives access to better trade nodes I think.

You should definitely force PU on Burgundy. Burgundy is an absolute monster. I had them under PU along with Bohemia and Hungary in a campaign yesterday and basically just let the 3 of them fight my wars for me. However, make sure you have a higher diplo tech than Burgundy and your other PU partners, otherwise they will get a rather daunting liberty desire modifier.

Not usually too big a concern with Austria- it's basically built to acquire and maintain subjects. Just do some healthy blobbing across the Balkans and Anatolia, and you should be pretty much immune to liberty desire.

I was playing as Austria and made the mistake of letting diplo tech fall behind, I didn't realize it was even an issue at the time until I saw Burgundy and the others were like 3 or 4 diplo tech ahead of me and I had to enable loyalists just to get them all down to less than 50% liberty desire.

And yea I messed up on that 1 I could have hit the Ottomans early and sprawled out but I didn't, and then when I was ready to do so they had already outpaced me and by the time I got the PU on Burgundy they had become massive and probably could have formed Lotharingia, they already had 120K troops and 15/15/16 tech compared to my 84K~ troops and 13/11/14 tech.

To be fair though I was just trying to inherit Bohemia and get the Electable! achievement.
