"I Don't Like Sand" is quite easy starting as the Mamluks. You start with a ton of desert and high development, can easily conquer more, and can feed all the provinces that aren't to a vassal when you're ready to trigger the achievement. I got it about a century faster with the Mamluks than the people who recommend Ajuuraan. Sure, Ajuuraan gets an estate privilege that helps, but they start so weak that it slows them waaaaaaay down.
