confused- elective monarchy and court an country

Playing Poland into Commonwealth to pick up a few achives and its going so well i might push for a world conquest (muscovy dead the HRE in ruins and the Ottos on decline) 2200 dev in 1620

took a save in 1610 cause i always screw up court and country triggers so i can go back if needed.

Anyways for Court an country Event you need to be at 65 Absolutiom to get the full bonus i know that. But due to Commonwealths Elective Monarchy my Max during the event is only 37 ??????????

Yes, some countries cannot get the needed 65+ Absolutism during C&C.
For Elective Monarchy Commonwealth it is:
+65 base
+ 5 Empire rank
+ 5 Great Power
+ 5 Golden Era
+ 5 100% Religious Unity
+ 5 Government Reform (Tier 5)
+ 5 Government Reform (Tier 7)
+ 10 100 Legitimacy

- 30 Elective Monarchy
- 20 Court and Country

= 55 max Absolutism


To get the most out of C&C you have to get rid of the Elective Monarchy first. The required event chain should start sometime after 1600.

so il need my backup save to not fire C&C so early because that event still hasnt fired.....
if i didnt want Poland can into space id probably quit an restart elsewhere now :(

You can (to a degree) control when C&C ends (conditions are 10 years passed, ..., and no rebel-controlled provinces).
It should be possible to go through the Abolish the Sejm event chain during the 10+ years of C&C. (The last event which changes you to normal monarchy even gives you +10 Absolutism)

However, I did not test it so no guarantee it is possible (and my last and only Poland game was several patches ago).

i reverted the save, i know the sejm event takes a few years to play out and if it doent happen soon enough i could be in C&C to long while my truces all end,

shame as i wanted to get it out the way and clear up europe before Asia reveals on the map. Guess i use the time to make a more vassels and mass intergrate later

Why go through the trouble tho? Are you playing on an older version?

Nowadays you can reach 100 absolutism without CC and thus you dont need it anymore. Only if you lose legitimacy you lose some (especially on a weak heir) but you can use mil points for that and it saves you the trouble you are explaining here.

im on the latest Manchu version.
the trouble i was having here is that i wanted to get high absolutism very fast as the run was going better than i had expected.
Polands Max Absolutism is only 60 due to elective monarchy. making +20 very bonus
Not knowing that Polands elective monarchy would prevent me from getting the bonus from C&C

u still could get +10 bonus. this is enough for perma 100 absolutism after changing government type
