Removing provinces from a junior partner

Recently started a Lithuania game and all is going well with a pu over poland and muscovy with the new patch missions... Just want to make the decision to form commonwealth but poland has too many provinces (need to remove four) is there any way I can pull this off without having to annex poland the old fashion way?

Start a war, lose and give away 4 polish provinces.

You don't have to lose it, isnt' it possible to just give the provinces away even if you have positive score? Just pretend you are loosing, but in the process kick the enemy arse so it's weakened.

You can not give away just random provinces to war enemy. First, they have to occupy fort nearby to conquer it and/or have claim on it or you will get negative "does not want the province" modifier. It works better when you can return province but I am not sure you can use that option for minor PU partner.

You could possibly pick small war enemy, get warscore to 100% (this should remove negative midifiers on accepting peace deal) and then offer polish land to them.

Maybe you can release those provinces as a vassal. I've never tried that; it may not be possible.
