Why do enemy armies completely delete my army yet mine hardly make a dent in theirs?
So when i win a 32k vs 7k battle (Me being 32k), they lose like 3k troops. But when i lose a 32k vs 50k battle my entire stack gets wiped?!?? WTF? I wasn't out of manpower, only 1 in difference in terms of military tech, we both have the same 2 military ideas, i am russia and they are scandinavia, wtf is this♥♥♥♥♥♥. Just AI cheating or what?

Ok... But how come the same thing didn't happen to them when i had way more troops?
Assuming that battle took place during the same war, it'd be due to most of the factors I mentioned. Their superior tech and national ideas gives them an advantage over your army, and that infantry combat bonus is extremely effective, and they also have a bonus to their discipline. Another big thing here is the terrain, as if you attacked them on hills or mountains or across a river (or a combination) you'd have penalties to your dice rolls while they wouldn't. The .50 fire bonus for infantry at level 20 would also be a great help to them.

you lost all your morale before you could retreat. eu4 battles aren't simply a matter who has the bigger army. next time take a screenshot of the battle screen and someone will tell you whats what.

short of that, all the answers you seek are here

The most classic cause of stackwipe is when the battle is over before two shock/fire phase are over; if the 7k managed to hold out long enough, they'll just end up retreating with their losses. Unless your initial morale was extremely low (say they beat your army, manage to re-engage the same army quickly enough for some reason, and it's an instawin), I don't think that explains the 32v50k wipe, but with absolutely no information it's hard to know what happened. Eventually fighting in the most isolated parts of scandinavia (especially with blocked straits) may have caused your army to have no direction to retreat to, and thus be unable to actually retreat. But that should, I think, take course over two separate battles.

I had full morale. Did you even read what i wrote or did you just read the title then copypaste some answer? Also i'm not asking why i lost, i'm asking why i get stack wiped when the ai doesn't under more extreme circumstances.

I was fighting in France, not Scandinavia.

i read it all, a couple times. did you read the link i posted? you got stack wiped because eilther your army lost all its moral before the retreat date, or your entire army was killed before the retreat date. those are the conditions.

at this point, do you want a real answer or someone to echo your claims of the AI cheating?

1 mil tech can make a huge difference depending on which one it is.

Man... this kind of atitude is not welcome... People are helping you and you are being rude? This is not nice...

Also the AI stack wipes under the same conditions as the player. As Brian mentioned, this condition is killing an armies moral before the retreat date.

You are an infallible player and the AI must cheat to overcome you.

Is that better?

thats probably the answer they were after.

To give a proper answer we need to know more. Your army composition, generals on both sides, terrain. Preferably a screen shot of the battles taking place. Without that information to tell you what you are doing wrong or what you can do better, it's just guessing. Provide more info
Mr.M Mar 16, 2019 @ 8:24pm
Meh.

Russians national ideas are rather bad militarily - together with possibly a Swedish Scandinavia, battle in bad terrain, a 3 star general on their side and an important mil tech ahead it is perfectly plausible for you to get stackwiped.

I show you a real crazy RNG "The-AI-Cheats" battle outcome:

More info plz. We need more numbers than the size of the battle.

Otherwise someone just gonna post the narva-battle(1700) again were the ruskies was 30k vs 10k and lost badly to the point of stackwipe^^

But why was my entire army killed but not theirs in a way worse condition?
As for everyone else, i have simply decided to never play Russia again, as this kind of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ always happens when i play as them for some reason.
