Counter revolution
I am allied to Russia, but they just had a revolution. Now I have a modifier called Counter Revolution which gives me -5 prestige yearly.

How am I supposed to handle this?
Russia is my ally, and is quite frankly the only thing keeping me alive against Lithuania and Ottomans.
Also Russia is by far the most powerfull power in my game atm.

But I have to do something, Otherwise I will soon be in like -100 prestige >:/

If they think they can, other nations will probably try to dogpile Russia, so it might be best to be prepared to fight some long wars, or to backstab Russia. Otherwise, investing in other prestige countermeasures is always a temporary solution, and then you just have to hope Russia can sort there stuff out (although revolutions and Russia, yikes). Advisors that offer a prestige bonus, if you're catholic appealing to the pope, stuff like that.

So it pretty much boils down to Russia has to be defeated in some kind of war? Do I have to do it or participate in it?
Also, no. Im playing as Moldova xD

To avoid Counter revolution modifer you can:

- move your capital from Europe
- have a truce with the revolution target
- change your government from monarchy to something else (theocracy or republic)

Being allied to a country is not the same as having a truce with them. If you broke the alliance, then you'd have a truce.

So in this case, do you think breaking my alliance with Russia would be worth it? Would it remove the modifier for me? And then perhaps I can ally them again later?

Unallying adds a 5 year truce with them - and unless they turn hostile immediately you can really them again 1 month later.

Tho this adds a -50 relation penalty each time - you cant do it forever.

Didn't say it was a good idea, just attempting to demonstrate the difference between an alliance and a truce. It depends a lot on your situation, although were I in your place I'd check the political landscape for friendly nations to ally (in case Russia gets bogged down in a ton of wars), or just stick it out and deal with the debuff.

Yea, im used to playing CK2. Still quite a noob at this game.

Im playing as Moldavia, in Ironman game.
Right now, I own all of Hungary and Wallachia, half of Lithuania. I made half of Poland my vassal, the other half Prussia took. I also own Constantinople, and South Ukraine + Crimea.

It's currently around 1700

Problem is, Ottomans are freeking huge. And they are allied with the other half of Lithuania, which has Scandinavia as their vassal.

Im clumped in between Russia and France, Ottomans, Great Britain, Austria and Sweden. None of them likes me and I feel like the only thing keeping them from attacking is my alliance to Prussia and Russia.

To top it all off, I keep getting -5 prestige. So just wanted to ask if anyone got any tips.
I guess my best option is to get an advisor and some ideas that give me + prestige for now I guess :)
