Daimyo system
I have barely played a Japanese nation in my eu4 playtime, but I gave Uesigi ( the white on somewhat north ) and I just declared war on some other small guys, like the other Japanese nations did. Now, all of a sudden it says "daimyo's can't fight their own wars", what? I was killing people and stuff and now it's a problem? The remaining Japanese powers also stopped fighting all of a sudden. Now my question is, is this supposed to happen or did I do something wrong?

You should be able to declare wars on other Daimyos, but you can't fight against independent Daimyos or other countries(e.g. Ryukyu). And I think you also can't declare a war if you got called into a war by the Shogun.

I was about to fight the Japanese tribe up north ( Ainu I believe? ) and it said I couldn’t attack it. Then you have the greenish Japanese daimyo and I also couldn’t attack that one. Thank you for your answer btw

The Ainu are independent so you will not be able to attack them until you are independent yourself.

That’s good to know, thank you. But will this ever disappear?

To get rid of this restriction you must either become Shogun by conquering Kyoto or become independent.
For Ainu you could get lucky that the Shogun makes them a Daimyo, but I think that is unlikely

That’s good to know, I will see what I will do, because taking kyoto will be impossible rn

basic Japan daimyo playstyle is to expand as much as possible to build up a power base (shogun gets a cb on you once you're past 10 provinces so make sure you're strong enough that they don't declare on you), ally everyone you think you'll need to win the war (can go over dip limit if needed, though i find it's not necessary if you've expanded a good amount), then declare and make sure you snipe Kyoto before one of your allies does. all of your daimyo allies will be called into your side of the war instead of the shogun's side.

if you can steal kyoto then you become shogun and all daimyo will be transferred to you, then you can either peacefully integrate them or release and conquer them via the unite japan mission.

or just stay shogun and turn the entire world into damiyos.
