why is this game so addictive?

What do you think it is that makes it addictive? I have quite alot of games but I still only seem to play this.

Just start a campaign, play for while and then start again. Repeat for 1600 hours and still keep playing :(

being real time helps since with turn based games the time waiting between turns is enough to finally decide to stop playing the game.
With Eu4 its just so easy to unpause and play for just 1 more month and before you know it, its been 20+yrs

It's not addictive, I can stop playing it at any time... I mean sometimes .... I mean .. Is it wrong to dream about this game?

I'm only just over 1000 hours into EU4

I'll stop every now and then but I just keep coming back for my fix
The feeling of beating a considerable adversary ooooh it's good.
