how to spawn religious zealots
What the title says, trying to convert religions. I understand that you send a missionary with no upkeep to spawn them, but it doesnt seem to spawn thew right type of rebels. Ive tried taking land while paused and sending a missionary before a day passes and waiting for seperatism to go down to 0, but all the rebels just turn out to be seperatists anyway. Is there any way to force them or change them to religious rebels?

If that condition is fulfilled, sending a missionary almost always flips the rebel faction. In rare cases the x2000 modifier for spawning religious rebels due to having a missionary can be overcome by other factors (e.g. low mandate or high tolerance combined with low legitimacy and low stability). You can find more details on the wiki(click expand to see the table and then expand in the modifiers list for the rebels which you are interested in): https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Rebellion#All_faction_types

BTW: from and to which religion do you want to convert? Alcheringa has no rebels, inti/nahuatl/maya rebels can't convert a country and other pagans(except animist) can only convert the state religion of pagans.

Try it on a province that doesn't have separatism.

Yea i think that my problem was the 30% progress not switching them combined with a tad bit too much separatism. The separatism is a bit weird for me, there doesn't seem to be an exact number and only seems to switch to religious sometimes. ill have to re-read the wiki and see if i missed something there. I was just switching from buddist to hindu and the provinces had a full separatist revolt and when the -100 unrest wore off they switched over to religious.

The number is 1 (year of separatism = 0.5 unrest). So any amount of separatism that you normally have will give the separatist rebels a x10 modifier. And having less separatism (unless you have a bug this means 0 separatism) gives a x0.1 modifier if the culture is accepted or in your culture group which makes the rebel weight so low that other rebel types are used (unless you have below 50 mandate). The base weight for separatists is 10 and if the province is in a different culture group you get another x3 (from not primary culture) and x1.5 modifiers, so you end up with a weight of 10*10*3*1.5=450. More separatism doesn't increase the weight of the rebels, so the base weight of 1 for religious rebels combined with the x2000 from a missionary should be enough to switch to religious rebels unless you have other factors which increase the weight for the nationalist rebels but not the religious rebels(tolerance to the religion in the province affects the weight of both rebel types equally).
