Tho Indian continent is more random normally, some nations rise, some get destroyed. I have seen Vijayanagar totally rule over every neighbour and I have seen them disappear and some smaller nation conquer everyone.
add that up with +5 morale of armies it a beast compared to vijayanagar
Vijayanagar starts with +10% Infantry Combat Ability and can get +5% Discipline (and +5% Siege Ability) from a Hindu Deity. Later in the game Vijayanagar gets another +5% Discipline from NIs.
I personally like playing Vijayanagar more:
- Safer position, Bahmanis can easily end up in a two front war if Vijayanagar is allied to Mewar/Malwa or even (depending on Rivalries) Gujarat, Jaunpur, Bengal, Delhi, ...
- Also often easier early alliances with fellow Hindus, Shia Bahmanis has a harder job at getting alliances
- I like Hinduism's flexibility more than (more or less) straightforward Muslim mechanics
- I like Coromandel Node more than Deccan Node as a initial Home Node. With some ships (and Vijayanagar has the Naval Forcelimit) it can easily dominate there and even get a decent amout of Bengal Trade. In addition the number of CoTs in Coromandel (especially after conquering the small nations in Southern India) pull away Trade from Deccan even without owning provinces there.
- Bharat has sweet +5% AdmEff in its NIs, Hindustan may have better military quality but once you formed one of them you won't have to rely on quality (haven't played both in 1.30 so I cannot say much about Hindustan's +10% GovCap)
1444 as they have no allys and be in a really rough spot leave it any longer and bahmanis will get allys and have more men so yeah
