Would like to say it's the curse of the Paradox RNG gods. I forgot how many of the AI nations get the lucky tag, but was having an enjoyable campaign, until somehow Lazarus like the Teutonic Order rose from the grave became strong, and has a permanent alliance with Hungary.

Not sure if it is the Danubian drinking water, but there is something that breeds 5+ shock leaders for Hungary. I know early on they get Huyandi. However this beasts who's name shall now be unknown in EUIV wrecked my Brandenburg armies.

Litterally had to indebt to the Burghers, raise a massive mercenary army and only then had a series of pyrhhic victories. Just barely was able to make peace with Teutonic Order.

This game has an RNG factor? I couldn't tell by the consistent horrible heirs and generals I get. I mean, a general can get anywhere from 3 to 14 pips and my generals almost always get 4 pips until I waste 800 military points hiring them. And then I finally get one that has 7 pips.

Honestly, the OP's story is really good. It's refreshing to see the AI doing something unexpected and crazy yet be victorious over the player as well. And I don't mean some ottoblob beating up the 50 dev player, but stuff like this.

At long last, after many, many games, Sweden was finally Protestant. As Brandenburg-Prussia at long last I thought finally may have some semi-historical 30 years war.

The Schmalkaldic League event fired off. Sweden is the leader of the protestants. I had formed Prussia. This was after recovering from the previous disaster.

At long last you say, finally the set up you've waited for, for many, many hours of game play.

Oh, as if this wasn't enough for you, RNG France has PU with Burgundy, France inherits Burgundy. Of course the Austrian HRE AI just sits passively by. Face palm.
