Becoming Anglican
Do you convert to Protestant and then become Anglican.....or is there an option to just be Anglican outright?

Doesn't answer the question. What triggers the event? Do you need to convert to protestant first?

Well I searched the game files and I found the answer. Protestantism must have been around for at least 15 years, your culture group must be British and you must have at least 10 cities. Other obvious stuff like you need to be christian (doesn't specify protestant or catholic) and you musn't be defender of the faith.

I'd advise remaining catholic until you get the anglican event.

Kind of ironic considering that Henry VIII actually was Defender of the Faith before he created the Church of England.
