Is forming Germany even worth?
Especially when you go with Prussia with its special government and Ideas. It kinda feels boring as Germany as if they did not thought this through. You'd expect major bonuses for being the new "domininant" superpower in central Europe. Instead we get a pretty shallow nation with almost below average replayability because the reward isnt even that good.

I'd expected an awesome reward like the united Holy Roman Empire or maybe a new chain of events that will help a newly founded Germany.
But this is, if you take a look at Revolutionary France or Great Britain, unacceptable.

I hope someone from Paradox notices this concern, and try to improve something, because right now Germany is the most unrewarding nation I have played so far.
Cheers

I don't see the problem. It's alternate history and gives and achivement, if you want historical experience of forming Germany take a look at vicky 2.
Forming Germany is the goal not the reward.

It depends on your situation really. I would go for it if its possible in your game, but I wouldent take the German ideas. I would stick with Prussian ideas.

Going for Germany gives you claims on the rest of it

Historically Germany wasn't formed till way after the time period, but rather Prussia and Austrio-hungary was formed in the south.

Austria-Hungary and Germany were founded 5 years apart. Prussia was formed in the 1500s.

Well apart from being a pendantic *** you really pick and choose here!
1525 was when the Herzogtum Preußen was founded but talking about Prussia for sure mainly equates to the time after 1701 when Friedrich I was crowned King in Prussia.
The other date you cite is nothing but the a formal adaptation and separation of the Habsburgian empire.

Guy's please this is not a historical debate. I was simply asking for your input about the current Germany in Eu4.

Well sort of, but "Germany" would be the German federation, which occurred after 1820, and thus isn't really reasonable in this game anyways.
Prussia lasted till the switch to the federation.

Nope, the 5 years put it right next to both the founding of the Northgerman Federation and the German Empire 1871. Obviously given that with Austria-Hungary you mean the two states that were founded 1867.

You would want to dismantle the HRE, imo, but getting permanent claims to basically most of central Europe is pretty good don't you think?

Prussia, otoh, gets claims on the Prussian region, which is nice and all but pretty marginal by comparison.

I didn't see anything about switching government type so a Prussian government should stay in place.

To me it looks like "have your cake and eat it too"
Also you can keep the Prussian Ideas and Traditions.

Cause Europe has changed A LOT since ww1 with new countries emerging and old countries falling apart... And Australia is just... lonely :p

The fact you form Germany doesn't mean you are the dominant power in Europe. GB, Spain, France, Austria can all be easily more powerful by the time you are admin tech 20. Not sure what you expected for forming it. The game already gives you claims on dozens of territories.

Can confirm that you keep the Prussain Monarchy goveremnt form if you have it when you form Germany, albeit with slightly less usefulness as militancy decays at almost -1 a month.
