Discord ruined multiplayer games

I'll probably get a huge backlash, but I do not care. I do not have a microphone and now all the multiplayer games require discord

Still, many MP games rely on communication (team coop, MMO raiding, organize the game eventually with custom rules etc...) and it is way easier and faster for everyone to communicate with voice than with writting.

A headset with mic is like 20 euros, so it cant be a money problem.

Now, sure, vocal with randoms,, i can understand why one wouldnt want.
But then, why even play MP at all if it is to hate your team more than the enemy one or just everyone playing with you.

I cannot spend $25 dollars on a headset and mic, I play randomly because it is more harder with the player factor.

Sorta, I bought my games when had a (what I though was) a stable, high paying job. Knew someone was going to say it.

I have never before even heard about someone getting kicked for not using microphone. Those people would propably kick you for whatever silliest reason they could come up with, microphone or not. Projection in the first very reply? This is going to be "fun".

Ik this convo is over, but i gotta say your pretty ignorant for even posting this. Not having a mic ruined your gaming experience,which was brought on by YOU, not discord. Just because you do not own proper gaming equipment for enjoying games (not having a mic? You talk of a time where you had a high paying job so i ask, Did you even bother to buy one then??) I am going to agree simply because nobody uses push to talk on discord, I don't want to hear everything in your house and your tv or you pushing on your keyboard, I only need to hear when you talk.

Should really get ts or something though, even if you do not have a mic you can just listen. People are mad because you won't hear any of them in game so you are basicly a non existent player to them.

People have reasons why they don't want to use voice comms online with randoms, and most of the people writing that off in this thread are likely white males. Even if you don't sound ethnic/female/etc, there's other reasons why someone might not want to use voice comms that go beyond buying a crappy mic.

Several game communities that I take part in have been migrating to Discord over forum use, and its getting annoying.
