You serious!?!?!
Question answered, Dicussion closed - Sikh SUCKS.
Even without taking the special regiments into acount, you lose the new estate that gives +33% production AND whenever you favor the nobles the Rajs get angry (which fortunately isnt a big deal, but still)
And as said, unless you picked Humanist as one of your first 3 ideas you are quite ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you turn Sikh.
and you keep the 33 production i think..., i insaconveted back to hindu so im only slightly sure. and the rajs can be angry if they dont have influence.
If you choose the +15 loyalty + 10 influence option for nobility, Rajs gets -15 loyalty.
If you choose +15 loyalty + 10 influence for Rajs, nobility gets -15 nobility.
And i wont be playing this save anymore but it looks like its the same for some, if not all events.

And with the +33 prod i mean the new "Vaishyas" estate. If they are loyal they give this much prod, -20% development cost AND +20% trade value in provinces you gave em.
if you are playing as punjabi your some missions involve going sihk and you also get better govenrment reforms too (tottally worth the 20 corruption..)
im not saying its better, i feel it is comparible thouhg
When does Sikh usually spawn?
Picking Religious early and going Sikh asap COULD be interesting - else switching Sikh just to form Punjabi (was Sirhind with generic idea set) and then back to Hindu feels better.
It took me a while to notice that Sikh spawned in another nation
Also as someone pointed out there are missions that require you to be Sikh in order to do them. By the time I eventually conquered all of India I was sitting on a very large income base even while having high level forts all over the place and while I didn’t have the largest army in the world mine were probably the highest quality around.
I had a good time with my first play through as a Sikh nation, it is unfortunate however that there were no added flavor events to the religion considering they’re also a Dharmic religion instead it’s the same event you get every decade or two that simply just changes the bonus you get for a time.
Also I went with the special reforms that you can get with them (unfortunately I had to pick a different early government reform once I tag switched and changed religion which meant I took a 10 corruption hit but over time it was the correct choice) and eventually later on I chose to take the reform that unlocked statists vs monarchists mechanics the Dutch Republic government has with the one upside compared to the Dutch government in not having an Absolutism penalty. It was a lot of fun playing around with the mechanics for that government. I can see myself going that route time and time again because that has always been one of my favorite governments to play with.
Hindu gets +5% discipline
100% cant give sikh provinces to Rajs, so if you want a unified sikh nation with one faith you cant use Rajs.
The special reforms are okayish. It MIGHT overall be interesting going Sikh if you do it asap, the longer you play the more it sucks tho.
was wrong here...
Your NATION one faith.
Aka a sikh India.
No...?
Orissa > Hindustan > Jagganat achievo, for an instance. If you dont take Humanist you cant have Rajs.
ANY northern indian nation can have Rajs.
Or rather, i am pretty sure its culture locked to northern India. Therefore pick any indian nation, switch culture and tadaa you get Rajs.
Could even form Punjabi as any indian nation.
