You need ADM L78 to colonise it because it replicates the climate. Norsemen most definitely did not colonise that particular area in 980AD. There are even a series of maps in the link you provided that shows that the areas that were colonised in 980AD correspond correctly to the ones that qweytr has made colonisable in the game and it says in the 5th line down that "Icelandic Vikings settled its southwestern coast."
Your own link shows that your claims are wrong and qweytr's representation is right.
Which was the reason south greendland became habitable for europeans during the 800s to 1200s, after that it simply was too cold for agriculture. So to settle there again europeans needed reliable support via ship and that took until the 1600s.
The Thule and Dorset cultures that came form the americas did not rely on agriculture so they were not afected that much after the warm medival periode of 800-1200.
