HRE world conquest - big blob or vassal swarm?
So in my Austria playthrough I vassaled all HRE nations (which obviously wasn't that hard :D).
I thought a wc from now on would be pretty fun and easy.
I never conquered the world before and now my question is, what is easier?
To conquer the world as a united HRE or with a vassal swarm?

Also when I go for the vassal swarm option, should I vassalize all other nations and does it take up a diplo slots?

Nations in europe join the HRE and don't cost a vassal slot, vassals outside still do and they will try to compare their overall power with yours.

Vassal swarm is the strongest thing in the game, but it's also a pain in the ass to manage and give territories away.

try to give far away lands to the furthest vassals you can find with access to the sea so they don't get stuck out of range when you need them and don't just feed a single vassal, spread the lands between them to keep liberty desire low, find a couple of regions with high dev and a single culture and take them for yourself, maybe some zones for trade companies, all the rest goes to vassals.

might want to release some nations if they are done, if they are in europe and their capital is in the HRE they won't cost a thing, like poland, lithuania, etc..
But using them for coring can be difficult as they are stuck in the north, I've given them lands in egypt so I can get access to the other side of Suez to get them to control india for me.

Why get them to control India? Isn't TC land good enough anymore? I haven't played Emperor yet, although I have all DLCs. Waiting for a couple of bug fix patches.

tbh it's just to make it faster and easier to core, after you revoke privilegia you get so rich money doesn't even matter, personally I'm not even looking for gold or trade any more, i make all the vassals give me all their trade power and the venice node is giving me over 500 gold by itself, moving into genoa or english channel after I integrate some of the PUs there to get all the trade power later on.

Every time I finish a war I have like 40k ducats I have to spend on something
Edit: oh, the +50% income from vassals is pretty good for the HRE as well.

Yep, vassal swarm.

I wouldn't vassalize outside HRE, because they will have massive liberty desire. Unlike HRE vassals they will calculate all vassal strength in their liberty desire.

They would absolutely never start an independence war because of how strong you are though.
