Non-ally stealing my siege?

Is this a bug or am I missing something? I was sieging down an enemy province (I started sieging it first. I was there before anyone else) and when it fell, another nation that isn't even part of my war took the occupation. I was so pissed. They declared against my enemy totally separate from my war and it's even indicated as such in the war screen. Has anyone else seen this before? Can a nation in another war take a siege that you initiated somehow?

I've experienced same thing. I guess it's just a bug or oversight

Hmm... In second thought, maybe it's not completely out of sense if stealer has better siege force than other one who started siege first. I recall similar thing actually happened in some war

Have you moved or split your army since the siege began? That can move siege to another army standing in province.

Aha! Yes i did split my force. I broke off non-cannon units to minimize attrition. Papal state must've had some units there when I did that. But I didn't move the cannons and the siege timer didn't change. Can just splitting really cause that to happen? Is that WAI? Seems kinda crappy if so.

Nah it's not intended but splitting troops in sieges has been iffy for years.
If it is a siege u need/want you should never touch the sieging army just to be safe :S

Got ya. Thanks man. In the end, I still got what I was looking for without that siege but now I know to carefully view who is on the province before breaking off.
