Will I get the Burgundian Inheritance as Castile if Austria is under a PU
Greetings fellow wonderful EU4'ers,

I am playing as Castile, it's going great. The year is 1475 I got my aragon/naples as well as Portugal under a PU. A wonderful thing happened and I got Austria under a PU, and all I had to do was fight France for it. Now, the question is: will I be guaranteed to get the Burgundian inheritance (He is a rival to me) since I got Austria in a PU.

P.S. I don't know anything about the inheritance and how it works.

any country that have an royal marriage with burguandy can get the inheritance, but I guess you have pretty good chances to get it if it fires.

He currently has no royal marriages. Is the condition that it will fire that someone HAS to have a royal marriage with them?

also the emperor always have an chance to inherit it, since austria is under an PU he cant inherit because he is not the emperor anymore.

Kinda sounds like you can just go ahead and forcibly take Burgundy from whomever inherits it, anyway.

If the emperor or any nation with an RM is large enough they could get it, otherwise you will (as long as you remain large enough of course).

The only ways to guarantee the BI for you (IF it fires, that is still random):

Become the only eligible nation, that is:
As Castile/Spain:
- Be HRE Emperor, have a RM with Burgundy and have 8+ provinces
- Be HRE Emperor and ensure no (eligible) country (big enough, HRE member) has a RM with Burgundy

As any HRE member:
- Be HRE Emperor, have Castile/Spain not eligible (not independent, too small, not existing, ...), have a RM with Burgundy and have 8+ provinces
- Be HRE Emperor, have Castile/Spain not eligible (not independent, too small, not existing, ...) ensure no (eligible) country (big enough, HRE member) has a RM with Burgundy

As non-Emperor:
- Be the only HRE member with a RM with Burgundy, have Castile/Spain not eligible and have the Emperor not eligible (<4 provinces)

(If the "BI goes to RM partner" case is picked and the Emperor has 8+ provinces and is among the marriage partners he will always get it, else which marriage partner it gets is random)

Just tag HoridMatec's link to the paradox wiki as the correct answer to end it here - it's difficult stuff and mostly you have no chance to force it.
