How do you destroy Ming without Madate of Heaven?
So, probably everyone has seen the so called Mingplosion, where Ming is basically overrun by rebels at about 1500 thus leading to the seperation of Ming into several smaller nations making it easier to conquer. I never found out how to actually trigger this event (is this actually an event?). Can you even trigger this event or is it pure RNG?

Go back to a pre-Mandate of Heaven patch. The patch that came alongside mandate of heaven made Ming much more stable which made Ming exploding basically never happen. A recent patch made it much more common again (but I think requires mandate of heaven to be applicable).

And it's not really an event. There are now multiple events that split pieces of Ming off, but originally it was just the loss of mandate modifier giving a massive unrest penalty causing huge rebellions everywhere.

Unguarded Nomadic Frontier is the event that generally triggers Ming-splsion (MoH) DLC required. However, all is not lost. Unify Japan, build a navy, declare on Ming and do not end the war until Ming explodes from war exhaustion, then 100% surrender to him and you will have 0 war exhaustion and you can reclaim the vassals after the treaty wears off.

Doing a Chola empire run as Cebu; do not have MOH. I have the same problem now; Bahmanis owns all the provinces in India I need and they are allied to Ming.

My problem is I waited WAY too long; Ming never Mingsploded, and it is the 1650's. I completely control the Malacca node and spawned Global Trade there; so I have the highest income in the world. Might just need to merc up and take some loans to drive Ming into the ground.

Or attack the alliance/guarantee web of Bahmanis in such a way that Ming won't get called in; break their alliance with ming, and hope they rival/don't re-up their alliance.

The Japan naval strategy seems alright.

I was just wondering what is actually the cause of the mingplosion when MoH is disabled. I lately played Ayuthaya and had huge luck when Ming exploded at around 1490. But sometimes it doesn't happen. That's usually the case when I'm playing the Mongols or Manchu where it's actually mandatory to conquer China. And since Korea is always my rival they will obliterate me due to their alliance with Ming.
I heard that Korea isn't allied with Ming that often if with MoH, though.

Without MoH; The reason for the mingsplosion is rebels; same as any other country. Ming is unique in that SO MANY tags can demand be released from Ming that instead of a new leader or autonomy or whatever, you get tags spat out.

So without MoH; you need to wear down Mings army so that war exhaustion which leads to unrest which leads to rebels. And with no money or army, Ming can't find their rebels.

This is why in the "Make Ming Explode War" you don't take land from Ming, and if you can you LOSE land to them on purpose; because after you've ruined Ming they have more land and more rebels to deal with.
