Statistiche:
0 republican tradition as pirate republic
is it worth to ignore republican tradition? i mean the only downside i can see is the stability cost. In return i will get OP ruler everytime. Not including the benefits of frequent elections and merchant republic reform

Eventually you will lose the republic and become a dictatorship, then a monarchy.

I think pirates are excluded from that rule

I can not find anything that would suggest that. On the wiki it specifically states that Colonial Governments can not be changed at low RT, but does not have the same statement for Pirate Republics, so I believe that Pirate Republics are subject to the same mechanic as normal Republics.

You could find threads that ask how to get rid of a Pirate Rebuplic since having low tradition wont change it into a dictatorship. There has been one a while ago

Alright, fair enough.

But something else for OP, if RT doesn't matter to a Pirate Republic, then you should still consider that stab cost is good to keep down, and high RT also gives unrest reduction.

I've been keeping RT for my Pirates around 50-70.

The event Rise of a Despot[eu4.paradoxwikis.com] excludes pirate republics. But the current version of the event is not on the wiki yet. And pirate republics have a special election event(also not on the wiki yet) which doesn't create a dictatorship when reelecting a ruler with low republican tradition.
There has been at least one post on reddit and one forum thread about this topic.

Unlimited Merchant Republic states + infinite ruler mana vs stability cost.

With Rights of Man (?) You can just dump all mil points into raising tradition as you dont really need them anyway with constant 666 rulers.

Since ruler loss doesnt cost stab the +200% doesnt hurt that much but its still better to dump mil instead of admin.

Why waste mil points?Just stay at 0 RT.

I'm not saying that stab cost is better, I'm just saying that it and the unrest is nice. You CAN have both, you know...

? I am playing Pirates right now, if you choose the Black Market reform it enables ALL mechanics from merchant republics - even the state limit...

I think what he means is that since the only balancing factor is RT loss, which doesn't matter since a Pirate Republic can't become a Dictatorship, it is essentially unlimited.

0 RT is the best way to play a Pirate Republic, especially as a Catholic. Go for it.
