How to claim a colonial region
I'm playing as Scotland and i have 2 colonial nations, one in Colombia and another in Canadá, and I want to claim these regions for my country, but I do not know how to do it, I know it is possible, and Portugal claimed Brazil ... but I do not have the option to do it, what should I do?

I am Catholic and I have good relations with the Pope

I guess you want to pop Treaty of Tordesillas:

Each region is automatically assigned to the first catholic nation who froms Colinial Nation there.

It's fine, but I'm the first (and the only) country to own colonial nations in Colombia and Canada, should not the pope assign that region to me?

It's not guaranteed, if the Pope doesn't like you it's entirely possible the event never fires (plus it obviously won't fire if you aren't catholic).

You do have colonial nations and not just simply a finished colony?

Good question. You need to form colonial nation (5 colonies) to claim the region.

Actually, the Pope, if he granted me the property of those colonial regions, I had not noticed, but I saw it when I selected a province without colonizing.

However, the game has a pretty stupid bug, since I became Great Britain, and when trying to colonize the colonial regions that are supposed to belong to me, I am violating the treaty because that region is from Scotland and not from the UK ... but ... idiot Pope ... I was Scotland !!

I know this is 2 years old, but I found this pretty funny.
I don't think that bug still exists. Just formed Netherlands from Holland and Colombia is claimed by the Netherlands and not Holland, so I guess they fixed it and now it updates!

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
