However, subject interaction Grant Province requires adjacency (sea zone counts) so you have to create a "bridge" to the Carribean (without looking at the map maybe Yucatan ->
Jamaica -> Cuba, Florida -> Cuba or South America -> Trinidad -> Antilles)
The other option is to Transfer War Occupation of Carribean provinces to your Mexican CN and give it those in a peace deal (of course only works if another nation has already colonized in the Carribean).
I had my Carribean Colony conquer provinces in Yucatan/Florida before (in a war it started on its own) and occupy provinces in those areas in my wars (which I didn't gave them).
On the other hand I could Grant Provinces in Papua to my Australian CN. Those even counted for the 10 provinces.
But I agree: It is not given that the CN will accept the provinces.
I should have said accept I suppose. They can/will colonize and conquer stuff on their own that they would never accept if offered by their overlord.
