But still don't take this as a bad sign, you can still core your lands in India. And most things on the coast should give you high development, meaning bigger manpower base and taxes. Give the provinces with high trade power to your merchants guild, you'll still be swimming in cash.
Nah, Asia and Africa are different continents.
ANY nation can make trade companies in other continents than the one where their capital is - just that trade companies only exist in Africa and Asia.
Therefore Africa can make TCs in Asia and vice versa.
I moved my capital to the province of Kilwa once I finished diplo annexing Kilwa as my vassal because that province had a lot more development than my capital which meant no extra cost to move capitals. Most of my states are just in Africa but the rest of my land are in trade companies in all of India which gives me so much money.
Also typically when you move your capital the trade capital moves there as well although that’s not always the case for whatever reason, still not sure why that doesn’t always happen for me. So if you can do it all with only one click instead of moving a capital to a particular place like Bermuda, for example to not have colonial nations, but want to collect trade in the English Channel then that’s two separate clicks.
Moving capitals and places to collect trade in is something you need to put thought into so remember that if you want to do it in one or two decisions.
As far as i know, your two capitals will always move together until you split them up first by moving your trade capital away from your true capital.
Once you move your trade capital away from your true capital, then you can change your true capital as much as you wish without your trade capital being affected.
But until you move your trade capital away from your true capital seperately, they will both always move together, even when using decisions to move your capital, or your capital being changed by other means(like when you form the Mughals, your capital moves to Delhi and if you havent split up your two capitals yet, they both move together, which can cause you to lose lots of trade money if you forget to move your merchants around after forming the Mughals for example)
Using Mughals as an example to summarize, if you are the Timurids and your trade and true capital is Herat in the persia node, formiing the Mughals cause BOTH capitals to move to Dehli since both capitals are linked.
But then if your Transoxiana and your true and trade capital is Samarkand and you then move your trade capital to Herat splitting it from your true capital, then when you form the Mughals, your true capital moves to Dehli, but your trade capital remains in Herat(Persian node)
