What is the new process (CEFProcess. exe) running in the latest update?

After updating to 1.27 when launching the game the said process (even several instances of it) are running along with the base game.
Located in the browser folder here:
\Steam\steamapps\common\Europa Universalis IV\pdx_browser
I've moved it out of that folder - the game seems to be running fine but I'm still curious if anyone knows what the hell that thing is

Pretty sure it is web browser based on Chromium Embedded Framework:

As to why it is needed, don't know.

Could you (Someone) please post the paradoxplaza.com content here as that forum requires an account LOGIN -_-. "Sorry for the late reply I had to liaise back with the devs. CEFProcess.exe is new for EUIV 1.27 and runs the browser we use to show the legal documents added for GDPR compliance within the pop-up of the launcher.

If you have more questions I will pass it on to the devs and provide you with an answer!

LOL Thanks for asking that as I've never read the forum post itself precisely because of the issue you've outlined :)
