Can a custom nation form Greece then reform the Byzantium Empire and get their Traditions?

So I know custom nations can't get the new ideas and traditions when they form the Byzantium, but can you go around that by either reforming or making another country first?

I dont think traditions can be gained from any formable nation if you start as a custom nation. Not 100% sure tho.

What about missions? Suppose those aren't gained either?

Hmm, it says you get new missions and ideas if you are not a custom nation, so im not sure how that would work if you formed another nation first. May work, may not. I dunno sorry i havnt played custom nations much.

I'm pretty sure you can never switch away from a custom nation's ideas. This is so you can't take garbage ideas & ruler and snag all the land to form something with good (or better) ideas and immediately get rid of your garbage ones...

Ya this game now has done a really good job at stopping you from switching to new ideas as a custom nation, as it would be way to easy to cheat it. (like starting as a custom nation where Brandenburg is, giving yourself starting ideas to help you form Prussia easily(tech/idea discounts money boosts etc) then after forming prussia, trashing those to take Prussia's super military set)

Just for fun, not too long ago, Ive even tried to manipulate it by editing the game filesto stop the game from preventing me from getting the new ideas and traditions event even as a custom nation and i did get the event to come up but even after choosing "yes please" it still retained me custom ideas. i might have just needed to tweak one more thing or 2 but i gave up and reverted my files back to default.

(FYI i just like using a custom nation just tohave my own custom dynasty in the game and to also to make my starting nation that i might want to play as weaker then usual for an extra challenge as i hate starting off big)

Personally i wish you could at least have an option during custom nation creation to not only pick your own custom ideas as you can now but to also maybe be able to choose from a list of all countries preexisting idea sets.
