"Land movement blocked by hostile fort"
I've searched all around the internet to find a simple answer to this. How do I move past an enemy fort???

Well, if you could simply walk past an enemy fort, there really wouldn't be much point to the damn' thing, now would there?

You can't move through forts, or any provinces bordering it, without capturing it first.

That's the point. I couldn't even capture it.

As I said, it works now for some reason. It was probably just a bug, sorry.

I've noticed sometimes if you engage in battle and then pause the game (say to decide where to move), a troop stack will occassionally say it cannot move somewhere due to a fort ZoC. Unpausing and letting a day tick fixes it. Just adding this for the "pool of wisdom".

I have like 2k hours in this game and I don´t fully understand the fort system to this day.. There are situations when I have no clue what´s going on. Like for example, I think it was yesterday, I was playing as Tunis, allied Austria and declared war on Naples (dragged Austria in). I already owned Rome and the rest of the papal land was held by Mantua, that wasn´t involved in war, but gave us mil. access. So, there was only one single fort, in Napoli... I landed my troops in Roma, half of my army besieged Napoli, and the second part was going to invade Naples from north. Didn´t happen though, the fort didn´t let me enter more far than to Abruzzi. And what happened next - austrian army arrived (from north), simply passed through the fort and sieged down all of Naples, although the fort in Napoli was still held by enemy. So - wtf?

Or I remember I was playing Persia campaign, attacked Mamluks. They had forts in Cairo, Alexandria and Suez I think (not quite sure, somewhere in the area). What I did was, I was going directly for the capital - Cairo. But then I noticed Mamluk army, quite big - so I decided to retreat. And surprise - my army was landlocked in Cairo. Mamluk army attacked me, and because my army somehow wasn´t able to retreat anywhere, my stack got wiped out (and it was like 50k army). Wtf again
