how to change primary culture for prince of egypt achievement
According to the wiki forming Italy will not prevent this achievemenet so I went from Florence to Tuscany to Italy and on to conquer Egypt. Changed the capital to Cairo with Egyptian culture. But even though Egyptian was the biggest culture No culture change option. In case Latin cultures are counted as one I released nations and client states to get the latin culture lvl below the egyptian but still no option....any ideas?

To culture switch you need enough provinces in a state to make it an accepted culture, then, with 50+ development, you can culture switch. But, beign Florence, your Italian culture provinces will have a lot of development, thus you should unstatify those provinces and then statify egiptian ones, if you can move your capital to Alexandria or Cairo, it'll boost even higher the development for that specific culture.

50% for clarification.

Yes, you need half or more of your STATED culture to be Egyptian to change primary.

Thank you all for explaining. Took a bit older save game culture shifted tunesian and southern italy provinces. Then released Milan , Ferrara and returned some Genoan provinces and Egyptian was finally 50% + changed capital and formed Egypt succesfully. No achievement though...any ideas as to how come?

There is possible achievements icon in the top right corner. If it is clickable then you can check which achievements are available in current run (with earlier saves you can see when the Prince of Egypt disappeared if it is not there anymore). If the icon is dimmed out, then you are not running default ironman game and can earn no achievements.

Right, I was demotivated a bit to check this. But reloaded one of the oldest save games I had where I still played as Florence, the achievement is not listed in the in game tab. Will need to check if it is there at the beginning of the game as I doubt this. Furthermore the official wiki states clearly that the prince of egypt achievement can be obtained by starting as Florence and then forming Egypt while forming Tuscany/italy does not prevent you from obtaining the achievement. I do not understand how you can disqualify

Mods. Wrong game settings (AI not normal or hard, historical lucky nations disabled). These can be easily changed in the single player options screen and they will disable every achievement.

In this same run I got the Italian Nation and the Carthago Delendi Est achievement without problems. Never used mods...

ah, if you already got some achievements then it is not about options of course

Are you on the right game version?

First of all, thank you all for your feedback. Secondly....Sorry Noob mistake for a very bad setup of this small achievement run. Game is in 1.22 version where as this achievement is from 1.23 so...sorry about your times wasted (although i did learn the requirements for culture change) and my time wasted off course :(

Well considering it’s a learning experience you just had I would say it wasn’t totally wasted. It certainly keeps you from wasting time in the future knowing these very specific things that happen in the game.
