Does the AI intentionally target the player more?
If the AI is in two wars, one against the player, and one against another AI, will it intentionally focus on the player?

It seems that way sometimes but the AI will generally focus down one nation at a time. I've seen them completely ignore me and focus on an ai probably just as often as they focus on me

I have seen many cases where Enemy AI sent most of its forces to attack my ally.

Cant find it to link, but the developers have previously stated that the AI is programmed to see the player as the largest threat in the game

I don't think that has any effect during war. But it seems like AI is more hostile towards you in general. Many nations that seem to live in relative peace for most of the game while controlled by AI get invaded by someone when controlled by you.

If I remember correctly the AI will see fast growing nations as particularly dangerous, and try to deal with them first. The player is generally going to be the fastest growing nation by a good margin, and thus the ai will generally see you as the main threat.

As mentioned above, ai prioritize what they feel is the highest long term threat.

Players are usually FAR more aggressive than the ai is, and can rapidly rise to the top of the heap in terms of target.

Another thing players commonly do is neglect the diplomacy game.

the Ai is ALWAYS topping off relations with everyone nearby, which keeps their long term threat low relative to each other, while players, especially newer players, tend to neglect topping off relations. (it can be helpful to enable the ai for your country and simply watch how it plays, as you can learn a lot of tricks to how the ai does a lot of the stuff it does).

It also helps to spread your conquests around. If you heavily focus in a specific region, the nearby ais start panic as they guess what your overall goal is and start working to curb your expansion where it conflicts with their own long term goals. (bare in mind, you should ALSO be doing this to the ai).

though how each ai type deals it varies. Diplomats try to big build alliance webs to prevent people from being able to expand easily. Militarists tend to try and cut you off via conquest. Administrators try to grab everything valuable and turtle up with powerful allies to make you less likely to attack them (but will also pounce you the moment they smell weakness and opertunity).

the only time the ai is expressly biased against the player is on hard and hardest difficulty. At any lower difficulty it primarily comes down to using the game's mechanics to predict and manipulate the ai to prioritize other nations above your own, by using all the same tricks the ai is doing.
